Bluestone Lake

Bluestone Lake is a man-made lake located in Summers County, West Virginia. It was formed in the 1940s with the construction of the Bluestone Dam on the New River. The lake has a surface area of 2,040 acres and a maximum depth of 200 feet. It is a popular spot for boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. The surrounding area features scenic overlooks, hiking trails, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Bluestone Lake is also known for its bass fishing, with largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass all found in the lake. In addition, the lake is home to a variety of other fish species, including crappie, bluegill, and catfish.
